All On Me

A poem about life, identity and the courage to face what is true.

Hi mum,You raised me well, all the bad about me, it’s all on meI lost my way along the journey; how do I turn back?My desire to live a perfect life made me force things that didn’t fitYour prayers saved meBut what will sustain me?They said there is a spell cast upon me, I didn’t believe in suchBut if I am not a threat, why are dark forces fighting me this hard? You taught me patience, I did the oppositeI knew what I wanted, but I didn’t wait for itI always wake up when it’s too lateRepairing the damage always cost meRed for danger? Maybe I am a bull at a showThe wrong people I ‘ve met in my life, I attractedI once stood at a door to the good life, but there was a sign that said restrictedSo much has happened in my life which a lot of people still questionSome of them are shameful and most are sad to mentionYou raised me to be great, but what I am now, that’s on me.
